WE’RE LOOKING FOR A PRODUCT OWNER

Orca Solutions is looking for an experienced Product Owner to join our Consultancy team. Someone who has an entrepreneurial mindset for translating business goals into roadmaps and product backlogs. Most important, we need a Product Manager who can help our customer build better products with a focus on digital solutions.

Objectives of the role:
➤ Lead team scrums to define product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities, and communicate with stakeholders throughout the project;
➤ Collaborate with internal and external contacts to analyze needs and align product roadmap to strategic goals;
➤ Work closely with product managers and business teams to create and maintain product backlog according to business value or ROI;
➤ Remain up to date on trends and best practices for agile project management.

Responsibilities

➤ Plan product development backlog;
➤ Develop detailed product feature specifications and ensure they’re clearly understood by relevant teams;
➤ Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure work aligns with product strategy;
➤ Mitigate roadblocks to achieving sprint/release goals;
➤ Lead the product-release plans and set expectations for delivery of new functionalities;
➤ Serve as product ambassador internally and externally, sharing knowledge and answering questions;
➤ Working with customers to identify their specific needs and reporting their requirements to the team; 
➤ Taking responsibility for all stages of the product development process and monitoring consumer responses to new releases;
➤ You identify needs and requirements from the business and translate these into specific user stories;
➤ You follow market and organizational developments within your domain, set substantive requirements and wishes for the technology product, determine the resources needed to develop, maintain and continuously improve the product. You also position the product in the customer’s strategy, determine the business benefits of the product and weigh the production costs against this;
➤ You manage agile team(s) substantively, both internally and externally. You monitor and determine the functional scope of a release or sprint in coordination with the business. You create support by acting as a connector between the business and Business Technology;
➤ You are the point of contact for various departments and work intensively with the development team, the Scrum Master and the Tech Lead and with the stakeholders in the business.
➤ Depending on the organization, you also report to the Business Technology Manager.

Requirements

Required skills and qualifications:
➤ Three or more years of experience in product development with one or more;
➤ Development teams within an IT environment.;
➤ In-depth knowledge of agile methodology for project management;
➤ Understanding of business value related to features and functions;
➤ Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills;
➤ Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills;
➤ Ability to effectively manage conflicting needs of stakeholders;
➤ You have knowledge of and experience with Agile working methods (Scrum, SAFe, etc.);
➤ You master the Dutch and English language with strong oral and written presentation skills.

Preferred skills and qualifications:
➤ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent through relevant experience;
➤ Proficiency with one or more applicable project management tools and technology: Jira / Confluence, Azure DevOps, MS Project, etc.
