Software Test Automation Engineer

We are seeking an enthusiastic Software Test Automation Engineer to help us move our quality assurance to being majority-automated.
Responsibilities
-
As an integral part of the Scrum team, the successful candidate will be responsible for testing new product releases to ensure we can release fast and at high quality. You’ll need to:
• Capture the requirements and acceptance criteria of newly developed functionality in test cases and manage the overall inventory of test cases to ensure it remains up to date.
• Collaborate with the development team to identify areas for automation
• Development and maintenance of automated test scripts using test automation frameworks (e.g. Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber etc)
• Debug and troubleshoot automation scripts and applications in various environments
• Ensure the scalability, reliability and efficiency of automated testing frameworks
• Perform both manual and automated test executions
• Identify, document, and track defects
• Share the test result report with the stakeholders
• Collaborate with Product Management on refining feature requests
• Ensure adherence to software quality standards and best practices.
Requirements

Essential:
You must have all of the following:
• Experience with developing and maintaining automation test scripts using Selenium, Cypress or Playwright
• Experience with using a test case management tool (e.g. Octane, Xray, TestRail)
• Experience in using Jira or Azure Devops
• Proficient in either Java, Python, or a similar programming language
• Ability to quickly understand specifications and customer requirements
• A keen eye for detail and the ability to identify, isolate and document defects
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• You are eager to learn, you are motivated and you are not afraid to roll up your sleeves
• You enjoy working in a team and sharing your knowledge
• Fluent written and spoken English (Dutch or French is a plus)
Desirable:
Ideally, you’ll have some of the following:
• You hold an ISTQB certification or similar
• Experience in writing and executing SQL queries
• Experience with tools such as Postman, RESTAssured, SOAPUI
• Familier with Devops practices
• Experience working in an Agile environment, with an understanding of Scrum methodology
Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent industry experience
